What's in a Name?
An endorsement is one of the most personal ways of joining Dave’s campaign for Supervisor. It is simply a way of saying "I'm with you, Dave," but it represents an important commitment. It means that you share common ground and have many of the same values. It shows that you trust Dave to work on the issues we face each day, once he is elected to the Board of Supervisors.
The success of this campaign will be based on how well we can build a grassroots network of supporters. We can only build that network by attracting people to lend their names as endorsers to this campaign.
Dave has already earned the support of thousands of Santa Clara County voters, including current and former elected officials, business owners, educators, police officers and firefighters, as well as church and community leaders.
The entire Milpitas City Council has endorsed Dave's candidacy; Mayor Jose Esteves, Vice Mayor Bob Livengood, and Councilmembers Debbie Giordano, Armando Gomez, and Althea Polanski. San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and seven of Dave’s San Jose City Council colleagues have announced their support for him. Sunnyvale Mayor Tony Spitaleri, plus Sunnyvale Councilmembers Dave Whittum and Melinda Hamilton are backing Dave. Dave's endorsements include Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors Chair Don Gage, and Supervisors Ken Yeager, Blanca Alvarado, and Liz Kniss as well as many other Bay Area elected officials representing wide bipartisan regional support. He's proud to have the support of Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith.
State Schools Chief Jack O'Connell (right) says,"To have Dave in a leadership position at the county level will benefit the students, teachers and administrators of San Jose, Sunnyvale and Milpitas.”
